News: Delta Sigma Phi Presents: See-Saw For Life! (@VTDSPNews)

Hey guys! Long time no talk!
I know some people have been itching to hear some of the great things that fraternities across campus are doing, so with that in mind, we here at TG, thought we would start things off on the right foot, with this post featuring the men of Delta Sigma Phi as they try to break a VT record! Hit the jump for a summary on their blood drive written by DSP's own Mario Gazzola, and make sure to join the FB group here!

See Saw for Life has been a yearly tradition of Delta Sig since I've been here at Virginia Tech. In the past, all we have done is a small blood drive (30-50 people), a raffle (raising about $1,000), and see-sawed on the drill field for 36 hours.

This year we have decided to reinvent the event and make it something more. We have partnered with Student Affairs, Student Alumni Associates, and Housing and Residence Life to turn it into a Hokie event, rather than a Greek event.

It will now be a week long blood drive, with a total goal of 500 donations. The impact that 500 donations can have is enormous as each unit of blood saves up to three lives. This will beat the previous Virginia Tech record by about 380 donations, and hopefully set the stage for an even larger event next year. We are also selling t-shirts for $10 with the tagline of "I Bleed Maroon and Orange" to raise money for the Red Cross. All proceeds will go directly to them, and we have about 600 shirts to sell. (you can find a picture of it in the group on facebook)

Our first day started off strong with 88 donations, and over 110 scheduled for today. If you would like
to sign up to donate, please visit our facebook page for more information:
